He is the President and Owner of Peterson Genetics, Inc., based in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
A graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Agricultural Business, Mike has been providing superior soybean genetics to seed companies for over 25 years. He is a past President of the Iowa Seed Association, past Chair of the Soybean Division of the American Seed Trade Association, and past Chairman of the American Seed Trade Association.
In addition to his responsibilities at Peterson Genetics, Mike is also Chairman of Community National Bank (based in Waterloo, IA).
Mike also serves on the Foundation Board of Trustees for University of Northern Iowa, and is currently the Chair of the Finance Committee.
The father of 5 children (including 15 year-old triplets!), Mike is busy with kids’ activities, and also enjoys outdoor sports and running (having completed 16 marathons). His favorite hobby, however, is spending time in soybean plots and customer fields, because Mike likes soybeans!
